"I'm already careful, but this is a good additional tool": in Cap-Ferret, the GHB detector bracelet is a big hit

Presented to a few young girls who are regulars at nightclubs, the GHB detection bracelet in drinks is seen as a complement to basic vigilance.
"Oh, well, there's no shortage of pains in the neck!" Tiffany bursts out laughing. "But with us, they can always hang on..." The 20-year-old from Bordeaux is on vacation in Andernos, on the Arcachon Bay, with three friends, and came this evening after a day at the beach at Presqu'île au Sun, the only nightclub in Lège-Cap-Ferret. It's midnight and they're off for a night of dancing "where we're going to have a few drinks." Regarding the risks associated with chemical submission, a precursor to assault and rape, Tiffany says she's "really become aware of them in recent months, since the Mazan trial but also all the GHB-related cases."
She looks at the Doctor B bracelet that SBS Laboratories just released this summer: a wristband with four test zones where you pour a drop of the drink to be tested and which, in ten seconds, indicates whether it contains GHB or not. "It's really practical, and above all, quick," emphasizes Léa, who is already used to using "glass condoms" to prevent any dubious additions. "Inattention is possible, and here, you can check just before drinking."
“A long blank without memory”The next day, at the Cap-Ferret market, we meet four young seasonal workers who work on the Presqu'île all summer. "I always have a hard time accepting a drink if I haven't seen the bartender refill it," explains Zélie. "It comes from an experience in Paris where I had a long, unremembered blank..." Along with Maya, Yseult, and Jade, they also frequent the Sun. "Everyone knows each other, or almost everyone, it's more relaxed, but in Bordeaux, it's riskier," continues Zélie. "I'm already careful, but this is another good tool."
Is it expensive, 3 euros for a bracelet? "It would be better if it were free like condoms," smiles Quentin, 23, a few meters away. "But it's still not ruinous, and very useful." Martine and Roland, both in their fifties, smile: "We wish we were old enough to go clubbing or to festivals until dawn! But we're going to buy some for our two party-loving daughters."
